Terry
Bolton of Paducah, Kentucky has been a professional
fisherman since 1994. A graduate of Murray State University,
Terry?s favorite place to fish is Kentucky Lake. He has
finished in the top 10 in thirty-nine tournaments and has 2 tour
wins, which both happened to be on Kentucky Lake.
This year will be the first time that
Terry has presented a seminar at the West Kentucky Boat &
Outdoor Show. Be sure and attend as he talks about Bass
Fishing on Kentucky Lake.
Jerry Maupin, legendary
local crappie fisherman, newspaper columnist and fishing guide,
will present a seminar on Crappie Fishing on Area Lakes.
He
will talk about how to draw crappie to where you want to fish
and how to create man-made fish attractors. Jerry has over 40
years of experience fishing on Kentucky Lake. You can read

Dan Morehead of Paducah,
Kentucky has been fishing since he was old enough to hold a
fishing pole. However, he has been fishing professionally for
14 years and has competed more than 180 tournaments. He was the
2003 Land O?Lakes Angler of the Year. Dan has 9 tournament wins
and has thirty top 10 finishes. When he's not fishing, he
enjoys hunting and playing with his kids.
This will be the second year in a row that
Dan will be presenting a seminar at the show. Join Dan as he
presents a seminar on Winning Fishing Strategies.
Jack
Devor, former professional fisherman, appeared on
the television show, Kentucky Afield; which is produced by the
Kentucky Department Fish and Wildlife Resources; in May 2006.
He has been fishing for redear sunfish on Lake Barkley and
Kentucky Lake for 10 years.
Jack
will be presenting a seminar on Techniques for
Successful Redear Fishing. He will be talking about
what you need to look for and how to locate redear. Be sure
and stop by Jack's Tackle booth at the West Kentucky Boat &
Outdoor Show. It will be located right next to the seminar
area.
John
Parks, a long time area tournament bass fisherman, is
an employee of Jet-A-Marina, where he provides electronics
technical support and set up to customers; and well as to
fisherman throughout the country.
John will be presenting a seminar titled:
Sonar & GPS: What is it really telling me?
He will be explaining the concepts of how the sonar and GPS
units on modern bass boats work and how to get the most out of
them. He will show a Power Point presentation that will
illustrate the things he will be discussing; including
traditional sonar, side scanning technology, down scan
technology and using the GPS to consistently relocate your hot
spots. There will be a question and answer session at the end
of the seminar. Additionally, there will be working sonar units
set up in the Jet-A-Marina booth (located on the lower level)
and you can visit their booth anytime during the show to see the
display.
Captain
Dave Stewart, professional bass guide on Kentucky and
Barkley lakes is one of the most recognized bass fishing guides
in the Midwest. He has been featured in many national and
regional publications. Dave has presented seminars at The
Greater Philadelphia Boat, Sport and Travel Show, The Florida
Great Outdoors Exposition and The Indianapolis Boat Sport and
Travel Show. This year will mark the fourth year that Dave has
presented seminars at the West Kentucky Boat & Outdoor Show.
Dave will be presenting a seminar titled: Ledge Fishing. He will
be talking about "off shore" fishing for bass on Kentucky Lake
and Lake Barkley. Included in his presentation will be tips on
how to locate the more productive ledges as well as tips on
lures and techniques.

Paul Rister
is the Western District Fisheries Biologist for the Kentucky
Department Fish and Wildlife Resources. He oversees the
fisheries management for Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.
He will be presenting a seminar titled: Perspectives of Western
Kentucky's Fisheries. In his seminar, Paul will be talking about
the outlooks for the sport fish populations in Kentucky and
Barkley lakes according to sampling conducted by the Kentucky
Department of Fish and Wildlife. You can hear what is being done
to try and stimulate the crappies populations. He will present
photos of a new piece of equipment used for placing fish habitat
in the lakes; and how it has already been use. Learn about an
extirpated fish species that has been reintroduced into western
Kentucky waters. Get a seasonally plan for you private pond or
lake. The seminar will conclude with the opportunity for
audience suggestions regarding the sportfish populations in our
public waters and well as questions.

Joe
Shallbetter with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will put
on an audience participation demonstration on Boating
Safely. These demonstrations will take place in the
area close to the Coast Guard Auxiliary Booth on the upper level
in front of Lobby A. He will be showing what you need to have
on your boat to have a safe and legal day on the water including
?who is the Captain and what is he or she responsible for?? He
will also perform an actual vessel safety check on a bass boat.
These demonstrations are scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and
Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
